A brick "Colonial-style hotel" that seems like it "should be in historic Williamsburg" rather than Virginia Beach, this "very homey", "family-oriented" spot has a certain historic charm; "lush grounds and fountains", a "tranquil" spa, an "attentive" staff and rooms with gas-burning fireplaces win praise, but a few reject it as "too old-fashioned" and aren't crazy about the "food selection"; N.B. it's 15 minutes from the beach.

It is on the campus of Regent University, the home of the Christian Broadcasting Network. The service was great. The front desk staff were very courteous and friendly.
The room was not throughly cleaned and the internet never worked.
The hotel is very cozy and a great getaway for couples. The grounds were beautiful and as it is not super family friendly the pool area was quiet and a nice relaxing area.

Staff was responsive.
Hotel is NOT 4 star.
The hotel decor is dated, toilet ran all night, tub needed resurfacing, surge protectors everywhere, had to call maintenance for fireplace. The only modern update was the flat screen over fire place.

The hotel was not a 4 star hotel.
The decor of the room was very dated and the rooms were hard to access from the parking lot. The elevator did not work, but luckily the building we were in was only 3 stories. My husband and I have used Priceline and Hotwire several times and this certainly was not a 4 star hotel. ...read more
